Default Cris Cyborg vs Sarah Kaufman, possible?

If both women remain undefeated for any length of time, will they eventually have a superfight between the two? I don't like Kaufman's chances at 145, but at 135 I think she would do OK. Any thoughts on the matter?

My thoughts are Cris could never make 135.

Kaufman made remarks before her last fight that she will not "eat donuts" in order to make Strikeforce's main cards, so I'm not exactly sure she would be willing to balloon up and fight Cyborg, and Cyborg isn't going to make 135...

If they both keep winning, they'll do it at 145 or 140 I bet. I look forward to such a scenario.

Yeah, let them fight at a catch-weight. But my money's on Cyborg. She's a beast.

Cyborg is big, and that's about it.

Female MMA - on a whole - is really unskilled and painful to watch.

Cyborg being the best of them just exemplifies that.

I think Cyborg probably does good to make 145 so I'm betting a fight at anything less is almost out of the question. At 145, Cyborg is significantly bigger. Also, its a horrible match-up for Kaufman. Cyborg hits a lot harder and even seems to have a better ground game.

I'll probably get a little flak for this, but in the last couple years the only of Cyborg's opponents who was able to provide a real challenge was Gina. If Carano didn't have the mental error of giving up mount TWICE, that fight could have gone a lot differently. Oh well. It appears Gina's not fighting at all anymore. I just don't see anyone on the horizon who can match Cris at 145. Hopefully women's MMA catches on a bit more so we can get some new prospects.

Also, I don't think Cyborg is all that good. She's made a living beating people who are at a much smaller weight class than she is (sometimes 2-3 classes down).

She's beaten fighters more skilled than her who were simply overmatched.

Dude, don't underestimate Cyborg. Everyone knows she's the best female MMAer in the world, despite having fought some lesser opponents. As for women's MMA being less skilled and watnat, I would argue that although that's true now, the sport has only recently opened up to women. Give them enough time to grow and I think we'll see good development.

As for Cyborg v. Kaufman, I'll bet Strikeforce will find a way to make that happen. Kaufman has made a name for herself with that powerbomb from the Challengers event, and Cyborg is already well known. I'd not only watch that fight, but bet that it would be the main card at a future SF event.
